Reading between the lines, the termination of Jeff Fisher and now the firing of Mike Heimerdinger does not bode well for the return of free agent quarterbacks Kerry Collins and Chris Simms.
The fact that both were probably top options for the Titans because they knew the offensive system just went out the window because the current offensive system went out the window with Tuesday's dismissal of Heimerdinger.
Collins, 38, would likely have been the team's best option at quarterback in the event of a long work stoppage, but that advantage may no longer viable if a new offensive system is installed, even though Munchak is said to like Collins.
The same thing goes for Simms, who signed a contract for the remainder of the 2010 season after he replaced an injured Vince Young on the roster.
The Titans have reiterated many times this off-season that Young will be released or traded.
