Starting strong safety Chris Hope is likely to miss the Tennessee Titans home opener Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.
“I think the only one who is probably doubtful would be Chris Hope,” Coach Mike Munchak said. “The strength, it's gonna take more than a couple of days to have him ready to play on Sunday and have him play the way he wants to play. We'll definitely hold him this week and see how he is next week.”
Hope missed a third day of practice on Friday with a shoulder that was dislocated in Sunday's opening loss at Jacksonville.
“I'll be very disappointed. I pride myself on being durable,” Hope said. “The only games I've ever missed in my career was because of my neck. I've never had a habit of missing practices or games. But this is a physical game and in order for me to be the best at my game, I have to be 100 percent.”
Jordan Babineaux, signed as a free agent from Seattle this off-season, will start in place of Hope.
Receiver Damian Williams (hamstring) and defensive end William Hayes (shoulder) both missed practice and will be questionable for Sunday.
Three players who missed last week will be probable as ends Derrick Morgan (knee) and Jason Jones (knee) and running back Javon Ringer (back) have been full participants in practice all week.
