Chris Hope is hopeful that he might be able to receive clearance for contact sometime next week.
There are no guarantees, but for Hope, who broke the forearm on Oct. 2 against Cleveland, next week would mark four weeks since the injury, and the healing process generally takes four to six weeks to occur.
“I'm not exactly sure, but it shouldn't be too much longer. I've got a few more appointments with the doctors, and I should be good,” said Hope, sporting about a four-inch scar on the inside of his left forearm from the surgery. “Hopefully, I'm optimistic about it. But I just have to wait on Coach (Mike) Munchak, the training staff and Dr. (Burton) Elrod to evaluate me and make that decision for me.”
Hope will likely wear some form of protection on the forearm while he plays in order to prevent any rebreak.
