McCarthy, Williams, Solomon out

Colin McCarthy

Middle linebacker Colin McCarthy will miss his third straight game with a concussion when the Tennessee Titans host the New York Jets on Monday Night Football.

It will mark McCarthy's seventh game missed this season as he has missed four other games with a high ankle sprain suffered in the season opener.

Coach Mike Munchak said he doesn't regard McCarthy as injury-prone, even though the linebacker also missed three games during his rookie year last season.

"I think we'll write it off as things haven't gone his way since the first game," Munchak said. "We hope this doesn't happen again and he has this behind him. We can't control these things happen. He doesn't want that and he's frustrated. We are, and especially when so much rides on him and his contributions to the defense are so large."

In addition to McCarthy, receiver Damian Williams will be out with a hamstring injury for the second straight game, while rookie defensive end Scott Solomon will be sidelined with a knee injury suffered last week against Indianapolis.
