The Titans continue to monitor the situation regarding defensive end Dave Ball, who has been having concussion symptoms.
Ball has had a history of concussions, and twice has missed time the past two years because of head injuries. Last year, he contemplated retirement due to a concussion.
“Dave was here today, but not practicing. Hopefully over the next couple of days, he'll have an opportunity to get out there,” Titans coach Mike Munchak said. “He still has some concussion like symptoms that we're still being careful with and still being cautious.
“We kind of check him out every day and then see how much more he can do. Hopefully, he'll progress and be back out there.”
Tackle David Stewart remains out with a right knee injury, but Munchak was hopeful he would be able to return soon.
Kevin Matthews did return after missing six days with a concussion.
“It's good to get some guys back, and especially Kevin because he's right in the thick of things. It's tough to sit out when you know you have a chance to compete,” Munchak said of Matthews, who is competing against Fernando Velasco at center.
Cornerback Terrence Wheatley will miss some time with a hamstring injury suffered against the Atlanta Falcons, and tight end Brandon Barden remains out with a hamstring issue as well. He has not practiced since the first couple of days of camp.
Linebacker Alex Watkins remains out with a foot injury, and linebacker Gerald McRath was given a day off to rest his sore knees. Guard Leroy Harris left practice early as a precaution with leg stiffness. Harris has battled a stiff right knee since camp opened.
