Defensive Line Coach Jim Washburn will be on crutches for at least a month, maybe up to six weeks, after being hit by Pittsburgh QB Dennis Dixon on the sidelines in the first half.
When asked on Monday if this injury was going to calm the fiery coach down a bit, DE Jason Babin said,”him being on crutches will only heighten his intensity. I don’t know what he has planned but I’m sure his wheels are turning.”
When the defensive line evaluated film on Monday, they watched the play and began to chuckle.
“The scary part is he [Washburn] didn’t even see it coming. His knee just buckled,” Babin added.
“We told him he has to seek treatment every morning at 6:30.”
At the end of the first quarter, Babin was credited with a sack. It was the first time that he had recorded one or more sacks in back to back games, in his career.
