Fisher now regrets letting Blount go

Titans coach Jeff Fisher said now he regrets the gamble of putting rookie running back LeGarrette Blount on waivers just before the start of the season.

Blount was claimed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and now has 359 yards rushing with four touchdowns on 75 carries this year.

Asked if he now wishes he had not let Blount go, Fisher said, “Every day. I thought we could get him to the practice squad, get him on practice squad, knowing that when and if there was any kind of interest, we could bring him back to the active roster. That didn't happen, but I'm very, very happy for him.”

Meanwhile, the Titans are still apparently searching for a big back – a search that had them bring in former Kansas City Chiefs star Larry Johnson for a tryout on Tuesday.

“He's on our ready list. He had a great workout. He's in good shape. It was good to see him run. I think he can still play,” Fisher said.

As for signing Johnson, Fisher said, “Not at this point.”
