Lavelle Hawkins, who was waived by the Tennessee Titans last week, agreed to a contract with the New England Patriots.
Hawkins has 71 career receptions since being drafted by the Titans in the fourth round in 2008.
His best season came in 2011 when he caught 47 passes for Tennessee, taking advantage of increased playing time after Kenny Britt was lost with a knee injury.
After that season, Hawkins received a three-year extension worth $7.2 million with a $2 million signing bonus. However, he fell to the bottom of the depth chart in 2012, catching only five passes, and spending many games as a healthy scratch.
