The Tennessee Titans went back to a familiar face in solving their fullback problem on Tuesday, agreeing to a deal with Quinn Johnson.
Johnson was brought in for a workout on Tuesday. To make room on the roster, Collin Mooney, who suffered a knee injury Sunday, was placed on injured reserve.
It is Johnson’s third stint with the Titans, who originally obtained him in a trade with the Green Bay Packers in 2011. He was waived later that season and claimed by the Denver Broncos, but found his way back to the Titans later that season.
He spent the 2012 season with Tennessee and was the team’s starting fullback in the opener this season, until an injury forced the Titans to place him on injured reserve. He later reached an injury settlement with Tennessee and became a free agent.
