Free agent tight end Jared Cook has reunited with the coach who drafted him, agreeing to a deal with the St. Louis Rams on Tuesday.
Cook, selected by the Tennessee Titans in 2009, will join former Titans coach Jeff Fisher in St. Louis where he is expected to become a big part of the Rams offense with quarterback Sam Bradford.
Cook was unhappy with his role in Tennessee and balked at the franchise tag by planning to file a grievance if the Titans tagged him as a tight end. The plan was to challenge that by asking for the wide receiver tag based on the number of snaps he played in the slot in 2012.
The Titans saw the writing on the wall and declined to tag Cook and also made provisions by agreeing to a deal with tight end Delanie Walker on Tuesday.
