Fisher Discusses Team

Jeff Fisher said Friday that he hasn’t notified any players of cuts yet and said, “we’ll do that tomorrow.” He did say, he and his staff have a good feel for the direction they’re headed. And the team will be scouring the waiver wire when cuts come out.

I have to believe that linebackers will be atop that list. Followed by any corners, and offensive lineman, that could help with depth.

D-line

When asked about the pressure up front during the preseason Fisher said, “it was good.”

Locked Out

Second- year linebacker Gerald McRath, will start serving his four-game suspension on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. CDT. At that point, the Titans, will get the roster exemption. He is eligible to return to the team on Oct. 4. He was suspended in June for violation of the NFL policy on performance-enhancing substances. McRath is not permitted in the facilities during that time and Fisher said that he, “must stay in shape and take care of himself.” The team is allowed to provide him with material, so he can continue to game plan. McRath has said he may go back to Southern Mississippi to work out.

Not worried

Fisher discussed Cortland Finnegan getting back out on the field and getting live action. Finnegan was told to “just go play.” Finnegan wasn’t game planning or studying game formations.

May play

Defensive end William Hayes, who has been nursing the knee injury, hasn’t been ruled out for the opener.

The correct call

The pass interference call on Nick Schommer defending Courtney Roby , with 43 seconds remaining in the game, according to Fisher was the right call.
