Receiver [tag linked="true" key="" url="http://247sports.com/Player/Kenny-Britt-6976"]Kenny Britt[/tag] returned to the practice field on Thursday, doing individual drills and scout team work.
“Today, I was just excited to be on the field. I did individual and a little bit of scout team stuff to make sure I could go out and run some routes,” Britt said. “My goal is to be out there, and as long as I get treatment day in and day out, I think I'll be OK.”
Coach Mike Munchak wants Britt to play if at all possible, but conceded that if he is not close to 100 percent that letting him sit a week to heal the way [tag linked="true" key="" url="http://247sports.com/Player/Damian-Williams-7019"]Damian Williams[/tag] did with his hamstring injury is an option.
“It’s amazing these last 48 hours how guys get better. We wish he could’ve done more today, but he didn’t. He was out here with his pads on, but tomorrow’s going to be another day to see if he can come back and do more reps than he did last week,” Munchak said. “We hope he’s healthy out there, but if not, there are other guys that will step up and play. You’d like to have your best players up and ready to go.”
Britt said he likely would wear a flak jacket to protect his ribs if he plays Sunday against the New York Jets.
“I'm wearing the same thing the quarterback is going to wear, anything to protect these ribs,” he said.
As for other players on the injury report, tight end Delanie Walker missed a second straight day with turf toe, but said he expects to practice Friday and play
Cornerback [tag linked="true" key="" url="http://247sports.com/Player/Blidi-Wreh-Wilson-31441"]Blidi Wreh-Wilson[/tag] (hamstring) practiced no Thursday, as did tackle [tag linked="true" key="" url="http://247sports.com/Player/David-Stewart-7014"]David Stewart[/tag] (calf). Linebacker [tag linked="true" key="" url="http://247sports.com/Player/Patrick-Bailey-6971"]Patrick Bailey[/tag] (hamstring), defensive tackle Sammie Hill (ankle), linebacker Moise Fokou (neck) and running back Shonn Greene (knee) did not practice. Of that group that did not practice, Fokou and perhaps Bailey have the best chance of being able to practice Friday.
