As expected, Jason McCourty got the call at right cornerback for the Tennessee Titans in Sunday's season opener.
The second-year man from Rutgers has come a long way from being a sixth-round pick last year to starting this season.
McCourty edged out Alterraun Verner, who played in the dime package for the Titans, and acquitted himself well. He had one pass breakup and was in on a total of eight tackles, including three solo stops.
“For me to be a starter in my second season, it meant a lot to me being in my second season and being out there and trying to make plays,” McCourty said.
