Jake Locker was a bit inconsistent, according to the various would-be scouts who watched his first practice at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala.
Locker, who needs to improve his accuracy, was said to have struggled doing just that, as Mike Mayock of the NFL Network, which televised the North squad's practice, termed Locker's performance as “erratic.”
In their reports, NFL Draft Scout.com's Rob Rang and Tony Pauline, reporting for SI.com, both said essentially the same thing.
The Titans are keeping an eye on Locker and had some time to talk with him for a bit on Monday. Tennessee is in the market for a quarterback, and has the eighth pick in the draft. Locker, plus underclassmen Blaine Gabbert, Cam Newton and Ryan Mallett are all projected as potential first-round picks.
It will be interesting to how he fares as the week goes on leading up to Saturday's game.
Locker was regarded as perhaps the top quarterback prospect last year, but he decided to stay at the University of Washington for his senior season, and his numbers dipped. He finished his senior year completing 182 of 332 passes for 2,265 yards with 17 touchdowns and nine interceptions.
