A number of Tennessee Titans defenders may be held out this week to rest minor injuries.
Those injuries have accumulated on the defensive line where tackle Sen'Derrick Marks suffered a minor knee injury, tackle Jurrell Casey had a minor knee problem, and swingman Leger Dougable is bothered by a shoulder injury.
All of them may be held out of next week's game against the New Orleans Saints to rest and be ready for the regular season. In addition to them, defensive end Dave Ball is improving from his concussion, but is still not ready to return.
Additionally, cornerback Ryan Mouton is also out this week after suffering a concussion in the 32-27 victory over the Arizona Cardinals.
Munchak said that receiver Marc Mariani's surgery to repair a compound fracture in his left leg for two broken bones went well.
“I think it went about as well as could be expected. He's handling it about as well as you can. He's very depressed and very disappointed, but he's got a lot of people reaching out to him and family coming in and players reaching out to him,” Munchak said.
As for the receiver group, Tennessee has just four players now who are definitely in the plans with Kenny Britt in limbo because of knee problems and a potential suspension. Munchak said the Titans would likely until after final cuts to add a receiver, if it looks like Britt may not be available for one reason or the other.
