Every week on the site, Terry and I will make our predictions about the upcoming Titans game. Also, we will invite a former player, a member of the media, and a TitanInsider board member to participate.
Darren McFarland from TitanInsider:
I think the Raiders defense will be significantly better this year. Jason Campbell is an obvious upgrade at QB from Russell. This is the year that McFadden has to stay healthy and take a giant step forward or the "bust" word will start to surface.
All eyes will be on No.28, as he finished last season with 11 consecutive 100-yard rushing games, in all 12 total. The defense will force Campbell to beat them with his arm, as they will stuff the run and force three turnovers.
FINAL SCORE: TITANS 27 RAIDERS 16
Terry McCormick from TitanInsider:
The Raiders, who should be improved with Jason Campbell at QB, present a decent first test for the Titans rebuilt defense. If the Titans' defense can pass that test, then Chris Johnson and the offense should be more than up to the task of outscoring the Raiders.
FINAL SCORE: TITANS 24 RAIDERS 16
This week we have asked former third-round pick, from The Ohio State, WR Chris Sanders. Sanders was drafted in 1995 by the Houston Oilers and played with the Oilers/Titans until 2001. He played eight seasons in the NFL. He currently teaches and coaches at Montgomery Bell Academy.
KEYS TO THE GAME:
TENNESSEE TITANS:
1) Must establish run game early with Chris Johnson
2) Gage, Britt,Washington,Hawkins must win the one on one battles outside
3) Avoid turnovers
4) Defense must put pressure on Campbell all day
Oakland Raiders:
1) Slow down the Titans run game(contain Chris Johnson)
2) Create turnover on defense
3) Put pressure on Vince young
4) Try to put Tennessee Titans in 3rd and long
5) Control the time of possession
6) Avoid the “big play” by the Tennessee Titans
FINALSCORE: TITANS 24 RAIDERS 10
Our Media member this week is Brent Dougherty. He can be heard Mon.-Fri., from noon-3 p.m., on 104.5 The Zone as the host of 3 Hour Lunch.
Oakland DL Richard Seymour said on our show this week that the Raiders would be able to stop Chris Johnson. CJ disagrees and so do I. The Titans home run hitter will get loose at least a couple of times and will begin his quest for 2500 yds with a big opener. Titans win easily. Run and tell that!
FINAL SCORE: TITANS 27 RAIDERS 13
Our first TitanInsider board member is actually part of the 247sportsteam. Dan Cotton has been a tremendous help to us in the early stages of this site and will continue to help in the growth of TitanInsider.
Dan gets right to the point, CJ with 125 yards and two touchdowns.
FINAL SCORE: TITANS 24 RAIDERS 13
