Terry and I will make our predictions about the upcoming Titans game. Also, we will invite a former player, a member of the media, and a TitanInsider board member to participate.
DARREN McFARLAND from TitanInsider:
The Titans are on a five-game skid, and a loss to the Colts on Thursday night would all but end the season for Tennessee with three games remaining. The good news is the Colts are on a three-game slide themselves, and losers of four of their last five.
But this comes down to fire power in the end, and my chips are on Manning. Indianapolis is first in the league in passing and last in the league running the football. The Colts signed Dominic Rhodes this week. The Declaration of Independence didn't have has many signatures as Rhodes has given the Colts over the years.
Titans haven't scored an offensive touchdown in 13 quarters (dating back to the Miami game). The offense can't stay on the field and the defense can't get off of it. They will get some much needed bodies back for this contest but still it will be too little too late.
FINAL SCORE: COLTS 27 TITANS 17
TERRY McCORMICK from TitanInsider:
The Colts have lost three in a row, but are still in control of their own playoff destiny if they can win their final four games. Peyton Manning has been plagued by interceptions with four pick-sixes in the last three games. He has been intercepted 11 times in the three-game slide. The Titans, however, have forgotten what an interception looks like, having gone 10 quarters without one. They also need to recall what a touchdown is. The offense hasn't produced one in 13 quarters. The Colts are still fighting. The Titans, losers of five in a row, are floundering.
FINAL SCORE: COLTS 38 TITANS 6
Every week now, we are pleased to have former 'Bookend' Left Tackle from the Oilers/Titans BRAD HOPKINS join Panel Picks. B-Hop is my co-host Monday through Friday on the "Afternoon Pressbox" from Noon till 3:00pm CT on 560AM WNSR. Hopkins was a 1st round pick (13th overall) in 1993. He played 13 seasons making the Pro Bowl twice in 2000 and 2003.
"Okay, week in and week out we find ways to manifest our frustrations with this team. The lack of (fill in the blank) adds fuel to whatever ales you. But... for those prideful souls left in the lockerroom, it is another opportunity to improve. For all you clichests out there, when the going gets tough... the tough WON'T quit! With the Colts decimated with injuries, it's a perfect opportunity to steel one. Get your rally caps out boys, it's the bottom of the ninth, you're down a bunch, and you've got no one on... swing for the fence!"
FINAL SCORE: TITANS 27 COLTS 24
CHRIS SANDERS once again joins our weekly Panel Picks. Sanders is a proud alumnus of The Ohio State University, where he played and was the Ohio State Athlete of the Year in 1994. Chris was drafted by the Houston Oilers in 1995, in the third round, and played for the organization until 2001. He is now coaching wide receivers at Montgomery Bell Academy.
