Defensive end Jason Jones had his left foot in a walking boot due to a high ankle sprain suffered in Saturday's Christmas Eve victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The injury has Jones' status uncertain for Sunday's regular-season finale in Houston.
“I'm doing all right. My ankle is hurting a little bit right now. It just depends on how my ankle responds to treatment this week. Hopefully, I can play. It's one of the biggest games of the year. If not, then we've got a lot people in our room that can play and step up. It's a high ankle sprain. We'll see how I respond,” Jones said.
Jones wasn't the only Titan to miss practice with an ankle injury. Running back Chris Johnson sat out to rest his sore ankle that he injured against Indianapolis. Johnson should return to practice later in the week, but said making cuts on the ankle is his primary issue.
Receiver Lavelle Hawkins could return to practice on Thursday with his sore ankle, while the Titans are hopeful that defensive tackle Shaun Smith can practice as well once his sore knee is fitted with a brace.
Tight end Daniel Graham sat out with an illness, while defensive end Derrick Morgan was out on Wednesday as he was excused for personal reasons.
Linebacker Gerald McRath was back on the practice field and was a full participant as he comes backf from knee and ankle sprains.
