The Tennessee Titans have signed quarterback John Skelton to their active roster and placed cornerback Tommie Campbell on injured reserve to make room.
Skelton worked out for the Titans a few weeks ago when Jake Locker suffered a hip injury. The Titans elected not to add a quarterback at that time, with Locker only missing two games. However, when Locker was lost for the season, the Titans opted to add another quarterback to back up Ryan Fitzpatrick and to compete with Rusty Smith to be the No. 2 quarterback.
Skelton was a fifth-round draft pick of the Arizona Cardinals out of Fordham University in 2010 and made seven starts for them over three seasons.
He played briefly for the San Francisco 49ers earlier this season after the Cincinnati Bengals let him go in final cuts.
