Titans, Bironas agree to deal

Rob Bironas

The Tennessee Titans have agreed to a reported two-year deal to retain kicker Rob Bironas.

Bironas, 35, has been one of the NFL’s most accurate kickers since coming to the Titans eight years ago.

Bironas admittedly had a bit of a down season in 2012, but still made 25 of 31 kicks, and hit 19 of 19 from inside 40 yards.

Bironas one was of several key free agents the Titans had hoped to retain this off-season and becomes one of the club’s chief unrestricted free agents to re-up with a new contract extension.

The Titans are still talking to the agents for tight end Jared Cook, kick returner Darius Reynaud and defensive tackle Sen’Derrick Marks as the opening of free agency approaches.
