The agent for Tennessee Titans free agent safety Jordan Babineaux says the two sides are “progressing” toward a deal, similar to what Titans general manager Ruston Webster said earlier in the week that he was “optimistic” about an extension getting done.
J.R. Rickert told TitanInsider that there is a chance that Babineaux could agree to terms before the March 13 free agency period begins, although the veteran would have to wait until then to sign the contract because of a stipulation in the new collective bargaining agreement. Last year, the Titans signed Babineaux to the veteran minimum and because of that would have to wait until March 13 to re-sign him.
Babineaux led the Titans with 117 tackles in his first year in Tennessee.
