The Tennessee Titans added veteran linebacker Zac Diles, agreeing to a deal with him on Tuesday.
In addition, the Titans also signed former Army fullback Collin Mooney.
Diles is a five-year veteran and will compete with Will Witherspoon, rookie second-round pick Zach Brown and Gerald McRath for the weak side linebacker spot. Diles is familiar to Titans linebackers coach Frank Bush, who previously coached Diles with the Houston Texans.
Diles split last year between the Tampa Bay Bucs and Indianapolis Colts.
Mooney played at Army through 2008 and graduated from West Point in 2009. He has spent the past three years fulfilling his military service commitment and is applying for an early discharge from the Army.
If Mooney makes the squad, he would continue a bit of tradition, as Ahmard Hall, who has been the Titans fullback since 2006, served in the Marines prior to joining the University of Texas football program.
To make room on the roster, Tennessee released linebacker Lawrence Wilson and fullback Will Ta'ufo-ou.
