Titans defensive line gets even thinner

HOUSTON - The Tennessee Titans defensive line was already thin before Sunday's game.

Sen'Derrick Marks

Marks left Sunday's game with a leg injury.

Now, there may be even more problems.

Defensive tackles Sen'Derrick Marks and Tony Brown were unable to finish the game, leaving only Jovan Haye and Marques Douglas to play out the remainder of the game.

Brown has been bothered the entire season by a troublesome knee, and did not practice all week leading up to the game. Tennessee had already declared tackle Jason Jones inactive with a knee injury from last week, and defensive end Dave Ball was deactivated due to a concussion.

Marks went out with a leg injury and after the game was transported to the Titans bus by cart.

Ball's absence also left the Titans with Jason Babin, Jacob Ford and William Hayes as the only healthy ends. Babin wound up bouncing back and forth between left end and right end on Sunday.

“It's not easy,” Babin said of the switch to the right side. “It feels like I'm out of my homeland, but if it's what the team needs me to do, then that's what I've got to do.”

In addition to those injuries, tight end Bo Scaife and center Eugene Amano did not finish the game.

“I think I hit a nerve or something. I just don't feel like myself,” Scaife said.

Amano went out in the first half with a shoulder injury, giving way to Fernando Velasco at center.
