Titans shopping Nate Washington

Nate Washington

The Tennessee Titans are shopping wide receiver Nate Washington and have interest in signing St. Louis Rams free agent receiver Danny Amendola, a league source indicated Monday night.

Washington was signed by the Titans in 2009 to a six-year, $27 million contract, which currently has two years left to run with a base of $4.2 million this season and $4.8 million in 2014. However, the signing bonus of $4.5 million Washington received in 2009 was prorated over the first five years of the deal, meaning that if the Titans dealt Washington away, they would only be susceptible to $900,000 of dead money on the cap with no acceleration.

Amendola, had 63 recptions for the Rams last season in just 11 games, but missed time with a broken collarbone and a foot injury.

Washington had his best season as a Titan in 2011 with 74 receptions for 1,023 yards. He had 46 catches for 746 yards a year ago.
