Former New York Giants defensive tackle Chris Canty had what was termed a “good visit” with the Tennessee Titans last week in Nashville.
According to a league source, Canty liked Nashville and the Titans coaching staff during his visit to the club, but other visits are still being planned. There was a report from USA Today that Canty will also visit with Kansas City Chiefs.
The veteran defensive tackle was a mainstay of the Giants defensive line after joining them as a free agent in 2009. He played mostly as a tackle, but also spent some time at end.
While with the Dallas Cowboys for the first four years of his career, Canty played mostly as a defensive end in the 3-4.
Canty, 30, was released by the Giants last week as part of a salary cutting move with two years remaining on his contract. He had a base of $6.25 million for each of those two seasons.
