The Tennessee Titans gave up on running back Jamie Harper on Wednesday, waiving the third-year pro.
Harper, a fourth-round pick of the Titans in 2011 from Clemson, had just 36 carries for 74 yards during his two seasons in Tennessee.
Harper’s days as a Titan appeared numbered when Tennessee signed veteran Shonn Greene from the New York Jets to back up Chris Johnson.
To fill the roster spot, the Titans did add another running back, signing running back Jalen Parmalee, who was formerly with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Parmalee, a five-year veteran, had 45 yards on eight carries for Jacksonville against the Titans last year.
Harper is the second Titans veteran player from 2012 to be waived by the Titans since the off-season program began. The Titans released veteran wide receiver Lavelle Hawkins last week.
