Panel Picks: Titans vs Broncos

Every week on the site, Terry and I will make our predictions about the upcoming Titans game. Also, we will invite a former player, a member of the media, and a TitanInsider board member to participate.

Darren McFarland from TitanInsider:

Believe it or not, Jeff Fisher is in his 16th season as the head coach of the Oilers/Titans, and this will only be his fourth time facing the Denver Broncos. He's 1-2 against them, including dropping the last two in '07 and '04.

This will be Fisher's 250th regular season game. Denver will be without Knowshon Moreno, which is already 30th in the league in rushing. The No.1 passing team will sling it around all day but the Titans will be ready for the pass happy team.

Rookie Alterraun Verner will be picked on, in his first NFL start, but will answer the bell with an interception and a forced fumble. Look for some trickeration out of the Titans on Sunday. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't pull out a flea flicker, fake punt, or on-side kick, in their October bag of tricks. It will be a treat for the fans.

FINAL SCORE: TITANS 28 BRONCOS 17

Terry McCormick from TitanInsider:

Tennessee's defense goes "bend-but-don't-break" once again, but this is the week Chris Johnson could let loose against a Denver defense that has improved but should be one of the easier fronts to run against the Titans will face.

FINAL SCORE: TITANS 24 BRONCOS 20

This week we have asked former sixth-round pick, from Maryland, TE Frank Wycheck. Wycheck was drafted in 1993 by the Washington Redskins, and only played there for two seasons before being released by GM Charley Casserly. He was picked up by GM Floyd Reece and the Houston Oilers in 1995, where he spent the remainder of his career until he retired with the Titans in 2003. He wore No.89 and posted 505 receptions, 5,126 yards, and 28 TDs in his career. Wycheck was selected to three Pro Bowls from 1998-2000. He is famously known for throwing the lateral pass to Kevin Dyson, against Buffalo, who ran down the sidelines for a 75-yard touchdown in what we've all known, for the last decade, as the "Music City Miracle". Frank caught 5 passes for 35 yards in Super Bowl XXXIV.
Today, he can be heard every morning from 6-10a.m. on WGFX' "The Wake-Up Zone" as a sports talk personality. Wycheck is also the Color Commentator for the Tennessee Titans radio network along side Mike Keith.

The Titans are playing with a lot of confidence. Denver has "O" line problems. I think the Titans will have a good day.

FINALSCORE: TITANS 27 BRONCOS 13

Our Media member this week is Kevin Ingram. Kevin, is also heard every morning hosting and doing impressions, from 6-10a.m. on 104.5 "The Wake-Up Zone". Ingram can also be heard working the football sidelines on Saturday's, as a reporter for the Vanderbilt Commodores.

I think each team will have at least some success doing what they do best, Tennessee running the ball and Denver throwing it. Titans d-line should be able to get some pressure on Orton, but will be watching to see how rookie Alterraun Verner performs in his first start.

FINAL SCORE: TITANS 31 BRONCOS 20

Our TitanInsider board member this week is Buzz Jacoway . He can be found on the board as bjacoway. Buzz' favorite Titans player is Fullback Ahmard Hall.

The Titans defense is playing well and I think CJ is going to have a big game.

FINAL SCORE: TITANS 24 BRONCOS 10
