2011 Titan FA's

  • Just looking ahead, lots of key guys are FA's.

Leroy Harris, Jacob Ford, Dave Ball, Jason Babin, Bo Scaife, Jamie Winborn, Ahmard Hall, David Thornton.

Gonna be hard to hang on to all, or even half of these guys and also work on extensions for CJ and possibly Young, depending on the outcome of this year.

  • Great stuff owenstg. How would you rank them in order of importance?

    Dan Cotton

  • Well honestly the jury is out on Leroy Harris, but I'm assuming he's going to improve over the course of the season. And depending on the CBA situation, he could be a guy we could franchise tag.

    Here's how I rank them:

    1. Ahmard Hall
    2. Dave Ball (if he keeps playing so well)
    3. Leroy Harris
    4. Jason Babin
    5. Bo Scaife
    6. Jamie Winborn
    7. David Thornton

Thornton is as good as gone imo. Most people would rate Scaife higher, and while I think he is a good, solid football player who fits well in our offense, I think his position could be improved upon. Reinfeldt likes to build through the draft, so I could see him drafting a better tight end than the solid but average Scaife. Can't keep everybody every year. The only guys I know for sure they'll try to keep at this point are Ahmard Hall, Dave Ball, and likely Leroy Harris.

  • I also believe Stephen Tulloch is a free agent, if I'm not mistaken. He was a restricted FA this year.

TitanInsider: Any closer and you'd be in the huddle.

Tulloch is indeed a free agent. I would have to rank him in the Top 3 if not #1 for 2011.

  • Can't believe I missed Tulloch, not sure how I managed to leave him off the list. Yeah I'd have to say he's no. 1 or 2 on the list. Would be nice to re-sign him to a reasonable deal. I'm guessing Ahmard and tulloch will be major priorities for the team. I don't think someone like scaife will be a priority for the team.

  • I'm not sure Bo will be a priority either. If they were going to lock him to a long-term deal they would have already done it because they have paid him $9 million the past two years. Besides, I think they know it's time for Jared Cook to see the field regularly in 2011. Heimerdinger admitted in Darren's Q&A that Cook's blocking isn't enough to keep him on the field regularly, so he has to be the receiving tight end.

  • What happens if there is no Collective Bargaining Agreement set in place before the free agent period.
