Titans owner says team will not make Chris Johnson an offer 'the way he is acting' by not reporting to camp with two years remaining on his deal
TitanInsider: Any closer and you'd be in the huddle.
CJ is under contract. Holding out a year will certainly not increase his value to anyone. CJ has less leverage as each day goes by. At $30,000 per day the total is $690,000 and counting. Almost his whole salary for the year. As good as CJ is, there's no way the Titans let him mortgage their future with a Fitzgerald type contract. Running backs careers don't last as long as wide receivers AND Larry didn't have to hold out to get his. The clock is ticking on CJ.

Lets face it without Fitzgerald Arizona would at best win maybe 4 games. They need him to get them to where they want to be. The Titans can win without CJ, I repeat the Titans can win without CJ. Would it be nice to have him in the backfield yes but it's not essential. CJ probably helps us win 2 maybe 3 games with him in the backfield.
