Are even able to draft a QB?

  • Well looking into the record and seeing how things are working out. I wonder if we are even going to be able to draft a franchise QB. Here's the way it works out if the season ended today.

    1. Panthers 1-11 .083 .583
    2. Lions 2-10 .167 .568
    3. Bengals 2-10 .167 .574
    4. Bills 2-10 .167 .590
    5. Cardinals 3-9 .250 .474
    6. Broncos 3-9 .250 .518
    7. 49ers 4-8 .333 .500
    8. Cowboys 4-8 .333 .526
    9. Titans 5-7 .417 .516
    10. Redskins 5-7 .417 .521

    I see Panthers, Bills, Cardinals and 49ers drafting QB's I don't think the the 5th QB available is goign to be franchise worthy but they need to do something. Now with the way things are going there is a good chance they could lose all the rest of their games. So there is a chance of improving our draft position.

    Plus I think the Cowboys are on the rise so we will probably jump them.

    I would love to get Luck though.

  • I think we'll finish 5-11, so we might have a chance at the third best QB this year -- I think it's safe to say we'll miss out on Luck and Newton. Whether or not we draft a QB probably depends on if Fisher is still the coach and how Titans mgmt. feels about guys like Mallett, Locker, and Foles. It's highly doubtful we trade up to get Luck or Newton, b/c a lot of the top teams need QB's, and they won't want to trade down if they can get one of those two.

  • I say the highest spot we get is 7. That might land us the 4th QB. Bronco's are going to tank now and I don't see anyone 1-6 winning more then 2 more games which puts us at 7. I really want Mallet yes even more then Newton (remember J Russell had 1 good year as well). Not sure how I feel about Locker and Foles we could pick up in the second and probably third round. and Luck is definately gone by the time we select.

  • Meh, I can't get interested in Newton as an NFL QB.

    Great college QB, but not a NFL QB IMO.

  • I'm not sold on Newton as an NFL QB either. And I haven't given up on Jake Locker, he will probably make a comeback during combines. But I bet no one will be asking Kirk Herbstreit for advice this year...

    Yeah the whole Cam Newton thing just reminds me of Jemarcus Russell all over again. Big strong QB that can run with a cannon arm. Everyone thought he was a sure fire thing and he just fell apart in the NFL.

    You can also say the same thing with Vince, which is another reason why I don't like Newton as a NFL QB.

    We just need to stick with a drop back passer who can perfect the play action.
