  • I'm assuming the Titans are just looking at these guys as contingencies, yes? They've got some depth at the position with Verner and McCourty and some developing players in Hawkins and Campbell. The draft depth at cornerback is also pretty good. I would think that if there was a calculated risk in terms of roster management that letting Finnegan go would be the safest.

    Draft a mid round corner, add veteran depth and let them all compete for the spot. It's a formula that has generally worked well in the past.

    In my opinion, taking the $7-8M you'd pay Finnegan and using it towards signing Mario Williams would be the very best option.

    You could possibly, and I say possibly, get both Carr and Mathis for what Williams will be asking for.
