Odds that McGinnis is offered the position?

Did Bud force the move or did Fisher make it on his own?

Not sure on who the DC will be, but the timing is definitely strange with Washburn leaving.

That would constitute the least amount of change and upheaval, knowing that they have already lost Washburn, but am told they might look outside first.

Because I'm convinced the head coach didn't realize the severity of the "Chuck problem" with both players and coaches.

I don't believe Fisher really thought Washburn would leave. Wash did NOT want to leave but it's apparent this lies at the feet of the head coach.

Dave's group was arguably the weakest position on the defense in 2010.

Is it true that Cecil received a one-year extension before the season ended? If so, Fish has some explaining to do.

If that's the case, then how come Cecil said he spurned other offers in recent weeks? If he was under contract, then he can't be talking to other teams unless it's a promotion to be a head coach - which is the only thing that wouldnt be a lateral move!

I know it's borderline absurd to suggest, but is there any chance Washburn comes back as the DC? He was passed over for Cecil in '08 when Schwartz left, so Fisher probably wouldn't be likely to admit what appears to be a mistake on in both situations, but it's a legitimate thought.

Why give McGinnis the job when the LB's might have been the worst part of the defense overall. Maybe if they can't find a DC outside then I can see moving McGinnis up. But they have a lot of coaching holes to fill it's going to be interesting to see who goes where.
