Traded for FB Quinn Johnson (Packers) for future draft pick....
Titans Waive Nine Players; Trade for Quinn Johnson
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Tennessee Titans waived the following players to reach today’s player roster limit: G Ryan Durand, DE Pannel Egboh, WR Yamon Figurs (injured), DE Jacob Ford (injury settlement), S Vincent Fuller, WR Justin Gage, CB Pete Ittersagen (injured), S Robert Johnson and CB Frank Walker. WR Kevin Curtis and T Adam Terry were placed on injured reserve. FB Ahmard Hall was notified by the NFL that he will be placed on the Reserve/Suspended list for the first four games of the season (see NFL statement below).
Additionally, the Titans completed a trade with the Green Bay Packers to acquire FB Quinn Johnson for an undisclosed future draft pick. Originally a fifth round pick from LSU by the Packers in the 2009 Draft, Quinn (6-1, 263) has played in 20 NFL games, including four starts last year for the Super Bowl Champions.
The Titans roster can remain at 54, until the roster exemption for Chris Johnson is removed.
Statement from Titans General Manager Mike Reinfeldt:
“Cut down day is always a difficult day and today was no different. We had to let go of a number of players who have had very productive careers with us, but the play of the veteran free agents that we brought in and the play of the rookie class necessitated these moves. With 17 new players on this year’s roster, I think we have upgraded a number of positional groups with a combination of free agents and rookies.
As for Ahmard, we have known that a suspension was a possibility for some time and we have used the preseason to identify players that would fit the mold of what we needed if Ahmard had to miss games. Johnson is a traditional, downhill, blocking fullback who we think will fill that need. He is a former fifth round pick, who has done a nice job over the last two years for Green Bay.
The roster still remains a work in progress and we will continue to evaluate the players who are let go today and see if we can further upgrade the roster.
I think the combination of the coaches, player personnel folks and players have done a great job so far, in a short amount of time, of building the right mix for the up-coming season.”
STATEMENT BY AN NFL SPOKESPERSON:
Ahmard Hall of the Tennessee Titans has been suspended without pay for four games for violating the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances.
Hall’s suspension begins immediately. He will be eligible to return to the Titans’ active roster on Monday, October 3 following the team’s October 2 game against the Cleveland Browns.

A draft pick for someone we will use for 4 games?
Or is he better than Hall?
According to USA Today, the suspension is "the result of a stimulant he took to stay awake on a drive from Nashville to Texas in February."
This sucks. We finally get CJ back and now we lose Sarge for a month.
