Coach Fisher said that Kickoff/Punt return duties will be handled by rookies Damian Williams in the first half and Marc Mariani in the 2nd. No mention of Alvin Pearman being in the mix.
TitanInsider: "Any closer and you'd be in the huddle."
I lok forward to seeing Williams for the first time... Has there been any news on Leroy Vann? I read that the Titans had some interest but then nothing... Here's to a better return game this year as last years hurt my eyes at times.
I remember seeing a report that the Titans might take a look at him, but he's a cornerback by trade, and when they had the rash of injuries there, they signed Pete Ittersagen. I'm thinking that's not exactly a rousing endorsement of Vann, if they had had that much interest, they would have probably grabbed him then..
You're going to see Williams get every chance to win the job, and Mariani is the chief competition. Given how tough it is to get from 53 to 45 on Sundays, my guess is they want the same guy doing both jobs like Chris Carr and Pacman did if they can. Makes it easier to choose your inactives.
