Apparently, some agents are saying that teams have contacted them and have tried to work out agreements. (I'm sure some have already agreed to nod and wink deals even).
With the lockout returning on Friday, April 29 following a brief, court-ordered hiatus, teams were not permitted to sign after the draft ended any of the players who weren't picked. In theory, teams also aren't permitted to contact those players or their agents.
You knew that some teams would have handshake deals in place. The Titans even admitting making a few phone calls to guys between their last pick and the official end of draft weekend in order to plant the seed of guys signing with them.
TitanInsider: Any closer and you'd be in the huddle.
Nothing wrong with planting seeds. Sometimes that leads to a good harvest.
Your team. All the time.
Hopefully that means the FA process will move along quickly since we won't have nearly as much time as we are used to. If it's within the rules, then I say go for it. Just don't get Goodell all over you for some minor violation.
