Assuming we make a pick at #10,and wanted back into the 1st round,we could begin making calls at selection # 24 in the 1st. #24 in the 1st is worth 740 pts. We would have to give up pick #40 in the second= 500 pts,and pick #70 in the 3rd=240pts.We would still have the #97 compensatory pick in the 3rd.That is all assuming we can find a trade partner.
I am in favor of the move....definitely. But it better be worth it. Remember that General McCarthy was a 3rd-4th rounder, so we would be trading 4 picks in the top 3 rds for 3 picks. The Titans could use the additional top rounder, so the move better be worth it. Trading back in for Rhodes or Trufant (should either fall) would be a wise investment.
The additional 3rd and 7th rd picks gives us freedom to make decisions throughout the draft.
I think that I would rather trade back 5-7 slots and get an extra 2nd round pick. We can still get a pretty good player at 15-17 and have another 2nd.
