  • Wanted to get Terry or Darren's opinion on Titans dlinemen. I'm wondering if they go ahead and keep 10 with the uncertainty of Jacob Ford, Tony Brown, and William Hayes. If so, I'm thinking Ball is almost a lock because of his popularity with Washburn. That means that 9 dlinemen are basically locks with Brock and Bakhtiari on the fringe. Do the Titans keep Brock for insurance and go with 10 dlinemen to start the season? If so, who's the 10th guy?

    I'm not Terry or Darren, but heres how I see it.

    William Hayes and Derrick Morgan will definitely have their jobs at end. (2)

    Tony Brown and Jason Jones will have theirs. (4)

    Jacob Ford could potentially start day 1 if Morgan or Hayes aren't ready (5)

    Jason Babin has played incredible this offseason and will probably make the team (6)

    Sen'Derrick Marks and Jovan Haye are your two backup defensive tackles (8)

    That is the only guarenteed spots (with the exception of Babin being replaced by someone else). Now you are right, they could keep up to 10.

    Ball Bakhtiari and Brock will be the last three fighting for any extra spots they want to give. I personally belive Ball makes it, and if they see potential in Bakhtiari, they will slide him onto the practice squad. Brock will probably be dropped from the team.

  • I think they will keep nine defensive linemen.
    With everyone healthy, the starters initially will be Hayes and Ford at end, Jones and Brown at tackles.
    The backups will be Morgan, Babin and Ball at end, Marks and Haye at tackle.
    If they keep a 10th guy, I think it could come down to Bakhtiari or Howard. I just don't see that Raheem Brock has flashed enough to earn a spot on the roster. As a veteran, I think he has to show more than a younger guy in order to earn his keep.

  • It's hard to forecast how many of a certain position the team will keep unless you break down the entire 53 man roster (which I don't really feel like doing right now), but here's my guess:

    DE:
    1. Willliam Hayes
    2. Derrick Morgan
    3. Jacob Ford
    4. Jason Babin
    5. Dave Ball

    DT:
    1. Jason Jones
    2. Tony Brown
    3. SenDerrick Marks
    4. Jovan Haye

    What happened to the tackle from Brown? Was his name David Howard? I remember he got into some trouble this summer. Did he already get cut, or is he injured? I figured he might be a practice squad guy.

    Anyway, I think we keep nine for now. If we keep ten, then I think the fifth defensive tackle is not on the roster yet.

  • I think I'm with the majority here. The "magic 8-ball" thinks they'll keep 9, unless Brock just goes berserk tonight and the final pre-season game. I think they like Howard and especially Bakhtiari (for ST) for practice squad. They're banking on getting some of these walking wounded back soon.

    Brown should come off PUP this week, and Hayes could return as well. Ford's return might not be far away either.
