  • We got 6.8 mill according to ESPN . Lets cut Amano, restructure hasselbeck and go get the young end!!!!!

  • Remember that we need 5-7 million in space to sign the draft picks in a few wks. We also need to sign a ton of depth players since we just lost a bunch. Even with restructuring Hass and cuttin Amano we would likely be unable to sign Dumervil.

  • Terry and Wyatt said we need around 4 for the rooks but it depends how much we will save when we cut Amano. We could squeeze him in but it's unlikely

Hasselbeck's contract is currently counting 7.5 towards the cap, obviously when all is said and done, they'll get some money back there and on a few other players who they haven't addressed yet, but know they will in the near future. If Ruston wants to get it done, there are ways to get it done. The question should really be: To what degree are the Titans interested?

    I'm leaning the way you are. If the Titans signed Dumervil, I would he ecstatic, but it would likely mean that we didn't get to sign some other help somewhere. I would rather have a much cheaper Abraham or Osi + get a few other stronger depth guys on contract........than sign Dumervil + a few other lesser quality depth guys.

    Pat Kirwan (who used to run the finances for the Jets and now is a host on NFL.radio) said that it depends on how many players and what positions they sign, but each team should allow 5-6 million for a typical 7 draft pick load...........we'll have 9 picks this yr which is why I through in another million.

  • The cap number is adjusted. You can add $5.5 million for the Hasselbeck cut, but we'll have to wait and see what the numbers are on Fitzpatrick's deal and subtract that.
