FIRST AND TEN: Haynesworth trade unnecessary?

Defensive line's stellar showing vs. Oakland could lessen the need to bring back former star DT

TitanInsider: Any closer and you'd be in the huddle.

  • If they said yes to a fourth round pick, I'd hope the Titans would take it. I'm sure at this point Haynesworth would love to get back to Tennessee where he thrived in our defense. Not to mention most of his money is already paid by the Redskins so there isn't a big contract he comes with.

    Blaize Pennington

  • I know I would still like to see the him come back if it only took a 4th to get it done. Just hope that he would come back with attitude of wanting to show the world that he's more then just a guy that can't pass a conditioning test.

    Ultra

  • He would dog-it just like he did in Knox., just like he did in Nash. till it was contract time and just like he did in Washington. It is PLAIN to see that he doesn't care about anything except the MONEY!!!

    Mean Machine

  • I agree if it only takes a 4th you can't turn it down. The contract is small enough to play him a couple downs as a role player and to give the line a breather and experience.

  • I think our defense could use him, then again I think we are fine without him.

  • I'm curious to see how we handle Mendenhall on Sunday. In the wake of the blowout last week, it seems like no one is mentioning the fact that Oakland averaged 5.2 yards per carry against us. I know a little bit of that might be due to Jason Campbell having a couple of big runs, but I'm not going to declare our run defense a success just yet.

I think you have a point McFaden could have had over 100 yards had things not of gotten out of hand so early. But Mendenhall is not explosive like McFaden is so it shouldn't be an issue.
