I think he feels like he's at the point where he needs to be a team leader. I applaud that and I think his passion for the game puts him in a position to lead. However, he needs to use discretion he dealing with the media. Sometimes it is better to just give vague answers rather that talk out of both sides of your mouth. He is starting to learn that, I believe.
A majority of the local fans have a soft spot for him, viewing him as an underdog who is successful and a postive influence off the field. The rest of the league views him as a irritating punk who scraps after the whistle. In person, you won't find a nicer guy.
