Five Bold Predictions for the Titans vs the Steelers.

  • Here are five of my bold predictions in the Titans vs Steelers game. I'll revisit them after the game to see how right or wrong I was.

    1) Titans get four sacks on Dennis Dixon.
The Steelers offensive line is very beat up and the Titans' defensive line will have a chance to make some plays. Also expect Derrick Morgan to get his second sack of the year. Morgan is finally getting some reps after being injured all preseason and it's his time to shine.

    2) Vince Young throws his first interception of the year.
Young was able to stay relatively mistake free against the Raiders, but this week is a different defense. Young will throw an interception and if I had to pick I'd think it was Troy Polamalu that gets the int.

    3) Titans hold Steelers under 15 points.
The Falcons defense is not the best in the league by any means and was able to hold the Steelers to 9 before the end of the 4th quarter. The Titans will do the same and the Steelers will continue to struggle offensively.

    4) Kenny Britt pulls down six receptions.
The Titans don't throw the ball as often as most teams so a five reception game is impressive. Kenny Britt gets back into this offense grabbing six for 50 yards.

    5) Chris Johnson rushes for 150 yards.
This is probably the boldest of my predictions considering 150 is more than the last two times Chris Johnson faced the Steelers combined. The key difference is Vince Young. If Johnson wants to reach 2500, he has to hit the 150 mark in this game.

    1) Well the Titans did a number on Dixon not bad.

    2) well hit it on the head with Polamalu getting that one. But I guess you can say you left off the other 2 turnovers. No one could have seen that coming.

    3) So close on the points I'd sive you that one.

    5) With out a passing game CJ didn't stand a chance of getting close to 100 but 34 yards is crazy.

    Recapping my predictions:

    1) They got their four sacks, just not all on Dennis Dixon. Derrick Morgan played well and caused a sack, but I don't think he got the official credit for it.

    2) Well I was right, and it was to Troy Polamalu.... didn't think he'd throw two though.

    3) The Titans defense held the Steelers to 12 points... the other 7 came from special teams. So I'll call that 3/3 so far.

    4) I was one shy on Kenny Britt. 5 receptions for 41 yards. If only he had grabbed one more! I think I should get a half point for how close it was to both catches and yards. Lets say 3.5/4?

    5) Add that 80 yard run that got called back and he has 114 rushing yards. Its not 150, but it would have been pretty darn close. Unfortunately I can't add that 80 yards and I lose #5 all together.

3.5/5 on some pretty bold predictions... I think I did alright.

  • Technically, Britt did catch six passes, because he caught the two-point conversion pass, which doesn't count when they put together the passing stats.

TitanInsider: Any closer and you'd be in the huddle.

Didn't realize 2-point conversions don't count on stats. Weird!
