Hasselbeck open to returning to Seattle?

  • Sources: Seattle Seahawks, Matt Hasselbeck open to return - ESPN

Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell called quarterback Matt Hasselbeck when the lockout was briefly lifted and expressed to him how much Seattle wanted him to return, according to a league source.

  • I'm betting Seattle will sell out to keep Hasselbeck. He wants to start for at least a couple more years and wants good money. I don't see him coming here for half a season of starting time low pay.

  • I hear he and Locker have already struck up a friendship. I guess we'll see if Carroll wants him back bad enough.

  • For the most part, I'm sure he's always been "open" to the idea. But the question is who wants him more? I could easily see the Seahawks going a different direction by trading for Orton or Palmer if the Browns' owner has a bit of sense.

If I'm the Titans I find the best "mentor" QB and I make sure I get him (I don't think Collins is that guy). They need to build on their franchise investment in Locker.

Sure the Seahawks want him more now since they didn't address QB situation in the draft and they can't address it otherwise for some time now. Will likely force them to overpay to get Hasselbeck back in the fold since it will be a last-minute deal.

That's the 64,000 question. Do the Seahawks want Hasselbeck or Whitehurst under center to start 2011?
