I like that Jared wants more opportunities

  • He's still got to become a better blocker.

  • Yes he does if he wants top dollar. The big question is what is he actually worth going forward.Getting him more reps means less effective blocking for CJ and it takes targets from Britt, wash, and Wright.Someone is going to feel under-used after every game.In general if cookie is getting a ton or reps,we are playing from behind.

  • Cook definitely is starting to sound like a diva wide receiver. Which isn't a bad thing, goid players should want the ball. He does need to block better, Gronk is a very good blocker in addition to being a beast at receiving but they still don't target Cook enough. They threw him the ball four times Sunday. Cook has a really high percentage of catches when he is thrown the ball. And the matchup problems he presents for the other team. Sigh....I will not get on a soapbox.

I agree and he needs to be targeted in the seam atleast two times a game.

  • It's also just not as simple as they must targe him.....or they must call plays for him.

    1. If he was a better blocker, he'd be out there more thereby increasing his chances of more touches. Plus, if you are a defense and you know he isn't a good blocker, what are you going to do? Either you are going to blitz from his side or pick him up in coverage....b/c he's not in there to block.

    2. If the interior of our o-line keeps opening lanes to defenses to rush the passer, then it doesn't make a difference if Cook is targetet or what route he runs. Hass will have to dump it off to the safety valve to prevent a sack.

    3. If the WR corps continues to have more drops than they should, well then the defense is going to bias towards Cook.

    4. Hass doesn't exactly have the arm strength he used to have. Just b/c he can see a guy open doesn't mean he can get them the ball as well as he used to.

  • Cook has 2 routes, the crossing pattern over the middle and the seam route.. why can't he learn more routes??
