No excuses anymore. After an ACL reconstruction, it is very, very, very common to take 2 yrs to get back to where you were. It has been 2 yrs.....no excuses now. And you will likely have improved interior line play.......and opposite DE play.......no excuses.
Couldn't have it said it any better myself.
That being said, we have to make sure that our expectations are reasonable for Morgan. He is not a pass rushing specialist. So if you are measuring his play by "hurries or sacks" you'll be disappointed even if he plays well. When Morgan was drafted he was the best "all-around DE" not the best "pass rusher." He didn't have the best first step, he wasn't the fastest, or most agile. He was really good at every thing......pass rush, against the run, backing off into coverage, etc......but didn't really excel at one thing. Morgan is not the 2nd coming of The Freak.
The premier pass rusher of Morgan's draft was Jason Pierre-Paul.....two very different players.
