  • I'm not sure if this guy has ever been right, seriously. I wonder how he's keeping his job at NFL Network.

Seems like a lot of beat writers have benefitted from the explosion of desire for online presence, gaining dubious status in the process. Kuha is a similar beneficiary, though I don't think he was a total water carrier for Fisher (as is/was the general feeling on TC). Without wishing to brown-nose the hosts, I was shocked when Terry lost his gig yet Boclair kept his (as I posted at the time on Titans Central). Terry deserved to get picked up by another outlet, but imo he suffered from a lack of "visibility". Of all the things for which to knock PFT, I'm glad that they give credit to Terry and Co. at Titan Insider for Titans-related info. I'm hoping that everyone involved in this enterprise finds a good landing, because they're all good folks with good insight and opinion.

  • It's almost laughable how many people think that Newton has more of chance at success than Locker. Judging only by his surrounding cast Locker will be better. Accuracy is actually one of the easier things to fix for a QB. Locker's accuracy wasn't horrible in college and Palmer will only make him better. I think it's one of the safer picks in the draft. Of course I am a homer. biggrin

  • Newton played in a very simple college run/spread offense at the Division I level for one year. Locker played in a pro-style system under a former NFL QB coach for 2 years that included "sight adjustments", "hot reads", "protection calls", "check-with-mes" and a number of other NFL caliber concepts.

I think it's safe to say that Locker has a leg up.

Thanks for the kind words, CharrdWood. As for the City Paper's decision, it was entirely financially motivated on their part. (I had been there longer and I'm sure was making more). Boclair works hard and does the best he can covering a bit of everything with very little help and very limited resources.

  • My biggest concern for Cam Cam is how he's going to handle FAILURE. He's been a winner at every level (like VY) because he was the biggest, fastest and most gifted athlete but what happens when you get to the NFL and EVERYONE is like that?
You can't out-athlete everyone at this level. So, then what? I will say that Newton seems to have at least had to handle negative scrutiny, where Vince was always handled with kid gloves and told how great he was.
If CM is willing to put in the work behind the scenes, then he'll make it but if he doesn't.......say hello to JaMarcus Russell!
