Just a thought about our WR situation

  • So this FA class of WRs is suppose to be good. Plus there are gonna be some cap casualties being cut like one of the more likely is Anquan Boldin. So two WRs that I think we should try and go for AFTER we take care of other positions, are Boldin and Wallace. Wallace according to a lot of reports is not expected back. Now let me explain. Kenny Britt in all of his seasons has had only about 13 games that shows he's worth his first round pick. He gets hurt a lot and has frequent run ins with the law. I think Kenny Has tremendous upside but he can't get himself together and can't stay on the field. So it might be best to cut our losses or even explore trade possibilities. Now the more important reason why is Jake Locker. I think with the right pieces around him and the right coaching can lead us to a playoff run. And having a guy like Wallace or Boldin on the outside would be great. After saying this don't get me wrong , if Kenny can get himself together and become the receiver he is capable of being , then I'm all for having #18 stay in two tone blue.

  • I love the idea of going after Wallace. The Titans would be better served getting out of the contracts' of Johnson, Griffin, and Amano; And adding roughly 20 mill. to 19.4 mill. we currently have. The production those three are giving us could be easily replaced. I like our chances better with Bryd, Levetre, Wallace, etc. with 40 mill. as opposed to 19.4 mill.

As we stand now, the Colts have twice our cap space (along with a few other teams). And those other teams have proven the know what they're doing and are on the rise. So if the Colts and Titans are vying for the same free agent, the Colts probably win.

And for those concerned with overpaying, look no further than Chris Johnson, Michael Griifin, Eugene Amano, and Matt Haaselbeck. Those contracts are the definition of "overpaying".

  • I'm with you, realistically the Titans are not close to a playoff team. CJ is not worth $10M to this team. I couldn't believe Griffin received the contract he got last year. I would also let Cook find out what he's wprth in FA. If you look at this team, how many of the starting 22 could start on another team? Maybe 5. So whose to blame for that ? Front office, coaching staff, players, or combination of the 3.

  • I would be interested to know if Griffin or CJ gets cut, does it leave dead money as far as the cap for the remaining years on the deal
