Kenny Britt or lack of?

  • Anybody else concerned with zero catches from Britt? I realize he's lacked maturity at times but they're going to need their #1 receiver to be productive this season. The fastest way to open things up for CJ every week is to have some form of a passing game. They have to get him involved. Agree or Disagree?

  • Agree they need to get Britt involved - especially against more talented teams.

That said, everyone knows Chris Johnson is coming and they still can't stop him. That is somewhat amazing to me in today's NFL.

It is also a credit to how good Johnson and the Titans' offensive line are right now.

    Kevin Ryan

  • I wouldn't worry about it that much just yet. Obviously he's in Dinger's dog house so he's not going to be getting many reps just yet. But there were only 17 passes attempted (four of which were check downs to CJ).

  • Fisher alluded to the fact that the Titans only threw 17 passes. Still out of 17 throws, not one was thrown toward Britt.

  • I feel like Nate Washington has REALLY stepped up this year. If his progress continues like that, Britt will not even get a shot to be the number one guy.

Britt will continue to develop and I think this offseason was an eye opener for him. Britt still does a lot of things right without the ball. Both Britt and Justin Gage may not light up the scoreboard with stats, but watch their blocking. Gage was incredible in this game with huge blocks that made for BOTH of Johnson's scores.

You saw Britt last year always being down the field on Johnson's runs and blocking until the end of the play. While I don't see anyone on the Titans offense having a 1000 yard year, it would be nice to see Britt step up.

You're right about the blocking down field. A stat that never shows up in the box score is WRs blocking downfield. Britt and Gage do a great job of that.

With the receiver position being such a "diva" position, there are way more Terrell Owens' type of players than Hines Ward types.

While Ward is maybe the best ever at that, Britt and Gage have really helped out the running game with their contributions down field.
