You have no favorite boards.
If we can add another safety and a pass rusher that should help things a lot.
PapaTitan keeps it real.
Plus another yr or two of experience across the board. We start an aweful lot of defensive players who are in their first couple yrs in the league. It's good for the future, but it means bad things now.
Agreed. I had high hopes for Morgan and Wimbley, but they're nothing but serviceable. Entire defenses can change if you have an impact pass rusher on the line. Look at the Texans and JJ Watt.
If they can get a guy like that with what's going to be a high pick, we could turn this defense around quick. They need to do something with Griffin and Babineaux though.
Wimbley and Morgan would look a lot better if there was better/more experience at the other places on defense.
-the LB's are very young, which means less pass rush, less run stopping, less coverage.....makes the pass rush as a whole less effective.
-The safety's destroy our pass coverage, thereby rendering a fatal knife wound to coverage sacks
-The DT's are young and often don't get the push they need, nor do they diagnose plays well just yet.
As the whole improves in experience, Wimbley and Morgan should improve. That being said, the Giants (during their superbowl runs) had many, many pass rush DE's that they cycled in and out. We need help here.
