The following article talks about how today's NFL culture doesn't allow for patience with new QB's. Most consider this to be a make or break yr for Locker.
a) Perform well enough to take the Titans to the post season and he's set
b) Perform average.......and the current staff has a dilemma whether to keep him or move on
c) Perform average or below and the new staff will almost certainly replace him
Those are Locker's options.......2/3rds of the options lead to him possibly being replaced.....ouch. But what if McNair were the QB? Steve didn't play as early as Locker has. And his first couple of yrs were about as bad as Locker's. Would McNair have been replaced if he were in Locker's shoes? I think he would've....
What do you think?
Imagine Steve McNair and Jake Locker switching time periods. Would McNair have been out of the NFL within three or four years?
RG3, Luck and Wilson performing at such a high level in their rookie season is what's driving the trend. However, I don't think 'Air' would have been benched.
PapaTitan keeps it real.
