Last game against Chiefs and today vs Seahawks the inability to get a first down is our biggest problem. Whether it be open drops on 3rd down or 3rd and 1 to go and we cant run for that yard, we just arent converting to keep the chains moving. Who would have thot our biggest weakness last year is now our strong point (the defense) they have been keeping us in every game. For our offense to have five 3 and outs in a row against KC and to have only one 1st down in 3rd quarter today is upsetting bc they are both good teams and the Titans had every chance to put a W on the board without really doing anything on offense. Worst part is i really felt Locker was coming around and seems like he got injured in the most inopportune time. Hopefully when he gets back it wont take too long for the offense to get back in rhythm.
I think much of the problems of Fitzpatrick and the run game go hand-in-hand. The running game needs to be better with a backup QB in the game. Instead, it has been worse, and that only compounds the problems the offense is having right now.
TitanInsider: Any closer and you'd be in the huddle.
The one highlight has been Fitzpatricks scrambling ability. Thought we lost that with Jake out but thats what has kept most of our drives alive surprisingly.
CJ is just not running hard enough for me.We need Greene to get healthy and get some 280 lb tight ends to run block because we don't throw to the 2nd and 3rd te anyway. If we want to be a running team then lets build one.We have no leaders or fire on offense since Jake got hurt.
It seems CJ's day is made or broke the first couple series. If it starts -1 -2 no gain it's like he gets frustrated and quits.
Jake hasn't sold me yet. He looked better over the last couple of his wks but still was not showing franchise QB style of play. If we get a pass catching TE, get a few of the WRs to develop, get the oline to gel, and get better QB play (whether with a new QB or improved Jake) we could talking about deep playoff runs. When coupled with this budding defense.
